Interviews: Ignescent

We have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Ignescent from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

I was actually looking in the dictionary under I and the name just popped right out at me...Ignescent. It had the perfect meaning...to spark..to ignite.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I've always listened to rock and metal. There's something about it. It just makes me feel alive. I especially love performing this style of music on stage. There's nothing like it. 3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? No. We didn't know each other before.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Jennifer Benson's favorite band is Skillet and Flyleaf, Ian Sebastian's favorite band is Ice Nine Kills.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Different experiences or hardships inspire me to write songs. I usually write when I'm going through something traumatic. It helps to get my feelings out. It's like therapy. God inspires me too.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was with Kaleido at Route 20 in Sturtevant, WI. We had a show with Otep booked but it was canceled. We have a show coming up with Trapt.

7. Where would you like to act?

Would love to act in a movie in Hollywood.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Would love to sing with John Cooper of Skillet someday. Sameer Bhattacharya of Flyleaf will be playing with us on guitar at our show on March 5th at Route 20 in Wisconsin. Super stoked about that!

9. Whom not?

I can't think of anyone I wouldn't want to be featured with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I get nervous before every show. But I just use those nerves to attack the stage and give me energy. I don't let it hold me back but do just the opposite.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Skillet and Flyleaf have inspired me the most. I love the positive message in their music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The weirdest a fan has asked me for is if they can put a tattoo on my neck.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans and are so extremely grateful for them and for their support of Ignescent.
