Interviews About Albums: Threads Of Fate - The Cold Embrace Of The Light (2022)
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
It is the first full-length record for us in the band after our debut EP, "A Funeral For The Virtuous" in 2018.
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
The album is titled "The Cold Embrace of The Light", and in a way, it was my interpretation of death itself, or passing away.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
For this release, it was a massive collaboration between all three core members, myself, Jack Kosto, and Vikram Shankar.
4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?
Beneath A Starless Sky is among the more special tracks to me, due to its meaning.
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?
Not so much a message, but certainly a lot of symbolism regarding death, loss, and grief.
6. Are there some lyrics that you´d love to share?
"Cold, cold is the light, the radiant flame that rages within"
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
There were some personal experiences I had at the time which were rather transformative to me as a person, and it definitely inspired the concept of death in the record...as death can come in many different forms, not just mortal. For instance the death or end of chapters in life, or the death of one as a person.
8. Something to add?
Thank you for this interview! And thank you to everyone who has purchased and listened to the album!
