Interviews: Acid Claw

This is a new interview with the Metal/Thrash Metal/Punk/Ska/Post-Rock/Country band Acid Claw from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

I (David) came up with the band name, I wanted something easy to remember and something that would look good on t-shirts.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

David:  Acid Claw is a multi-genre band, we play punk, metal, ska, thrash, country, and post-rock. So, you could call us “Prog Punk”. I like to write interesting music and hope when people watch us they are as equally interested in us 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

David: Yes, we have all been in bands with each other before or some of us work at the same place. 

4. Each band member's favorite band?

David: Any Mike Patton band

Ailsa: To be honest, I listen to the musical theatre most of the time

Noel: Chocolate Cake

Spoonie: Mastodon

Paul: Meshuggah

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

David: Our debut album “Horror Comic” was about death, dealing with trauma, and overcoming adversity. Our second album that is going to be recorded this August is about life, positivity, and freedom. Inspiration comes in many forms but something that affects you on a personal level is usually a good starting point. 

6. Where was your last gig?

David:  We played an all-day festival in Bristol; it was a lot of fun, we met lots of cool people and played with awesome bands.

7. Where would you like to act?

David:  All over the World! 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

David:  Mr Bungle, Baroness, Faith No More.

9. Whom not?

David:  We would play music with anyone. 

10. Have any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

David and Ailsa: Own your nerves, channel that energy into your playing. The same hormones that make you nervous, make you feel excited - remember that. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

David: Igorrr, Mr Bungle, Left Over Crack. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Hair. 

13. What do you think of your fans?

David: Anyone who takes the time to listen to us, watch us or buy our stuff is greatly appreciated, we love each and every one of you. 

14. What do you think of our site?

David:  Awesome, it’s a great place to discover new music and support musicians.
