Interviews: Bury The Kingdom

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

The band name came from us talking about the systems that are crooked and corrupt. The first lyric idea we had was the first line in the song “Bury the Kingdom”. The line is, “Grab a shovel and dig that grave!” So we thought, “ What are we burying? Well, we decided to bury the whole fucking kingdom. The system we live under can be so corrupt. Our name reflects our mission. Bury The Kingdom.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

This style of music, its aggressive nature is the perfect vessel for our message.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We knew of each other but this movement banded us together. Now we are playing to create the change needed in this corrupted world

4. Each band member's favorite band?

We like all sorts of music. Throughout the band the range is diverse but as a whole, we are inspired by bands that stand for something.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The various injustices that plague the planet. So there is never a lack of subject matter to draw from. Maybe one day we won’t have anything to write about! That’s the goal anyway!

6. Where was your last gig?

We haven’t played a show yet due to the fact that we formed during Covid. For the last 2 years, we wrote and recorded this music as we watched controversial issues boil over worldwide. It inspired the music and lyrics that you will be hearing from us.

7. Where would you like to act?

Wacken and every other festival in Europe! It is our goal to take our movement worldwide but Europe has some of the craziest festivals and venues to play!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Meshuggah, because we want to play with the best.

9. Who not?

Anyone or anything corrupt.

10. Have Any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us were made for this. If you have stage fright come to a BtK show and we will bring you up on stage and help you conquer that fear!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The bands that have a message or that stand for something bigger than their music. RATM, Henry Rollins, Marley..there are several others but those 3 came to mind first.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To write a song for them about a very personal situation they were experiencing. 

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are the reason we do this. We speak for them but they are “The Jury!” They pass down the final verdict.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your sites are great! Lots of great musicians! We appreciate the time you’ve taken to talk to us and speak to your audience!

15. Something to add?

BURY THE KINGDOM is here to speak up for the ones who have no voice! We stand up for the ones that cannot stand! Our lyrics pull back the curtains on the filth that run our court systems, churches, hospitals, and our world “leaders.” We push on the topics that make most people uncomfortable. This is no time to turn a blind eye. It's time to RISE UP!
