Interviews: Moscú Babies

This is a new interview with the Punk Rock band Moscú Babies from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Actually, Moscu Babies ain’t a quite thoughtful name, it just sounded better than others and that's how it stayed.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Each member comes from a different background and different Punk Rock /Hardcore bands. We really don't feel comfortable within any label. Just write songs the way we feel, avoiding falling into any genre standards. We prefer to compose letting our songs evolve and grow organically, without molding them into any specific musical genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us do since we were previously part of other related bands.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Tania Ce: Black Sabbath, Beatles, The Muffs, Bad Religion, Misfits.

Jorge: Bad Brains, Voivod, Descendents

Gon: Type O Negative, Veneno, Bad Brains, Saint Vitus

Sergi: every week I change favorite bands. This week I'd say Iron Maiden and Amorphi's first LP. And Dio era BS. And Pixies.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lots of things. Also, our society is so rotten and lost that it's a pretty rich source of inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was October 29th, 2021 @ Wurlitzer Ballroom, Madrid with Sacramentos and ExFan

7. Where would you like to act?

Any place with a decent sound/PA system, and a good atmosphere between bands, venue, and public.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Tania Ce: Danko Jones, Gluecifer, Bad Religion, Descendents, Backyard Babies... 

Jorge: Doughboys, Big drill car.

Gon: I’m ok performing with my friends, so… but to give you some names, I would say, Dave Lombardo, Rocky George, HR, Stephen Egerton… many.

Sergi: I really don’t know…someone interesting… and there are hundreds of such people… I could not pick one in particular.

9. Who not?

No one in particular. We would hate to play in a lousy environment, with bad vibes, sexist or classist shit.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really. The only advice we can give to beginners is to enjoy the here and now. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Misfits, The Muffs, Descendents, Backyard Babies, Gluecifer…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Luckily, nothing in particular.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Most people coming to our shows are our friends or people we know, people like us, so we always have a loving image of them.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is awesome!. You give support and visibility to many underground bands from every corner of the world, and that’s fantastic.
