Interviews: SPEKTRVM
This is a new interview with the Heavy Metal band SPEKTRVM from Greece. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?
The name Spektrvm (Spectrum) came from the width of different aspects, musical and not, represented by the members of the band. It took its final form, inspired by the earlier Anglo-Saxon alphabet, where this is how it would have been written.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We wanted to include many different musical aspects and inspirations, as we did in our upcoming album, but we all had Heavy Metal as a common denominator.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Mike and George knew each other, they formed the band, and each member came into the band with a funny story and a boatload of talent.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Thanos - Disturbed
George - Guns & Roses
Nicolas - Born of Osiris
Mike - Motorhead
Lyo - Avenged Sevenfold
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Every song on our first album is inspired by things we deem to be going wrong in society.
Situations, events, feelings, and general inspiration from jam sessions always factor in as well.
6. Where was your last gig?
At Crow live stage in Athens, Greece.
7. Where would you like to act?
Rock in Rio, Slane Castle, Wacken, Progpower USA, 70000 Tons Of Metal Cruise Festival, KNOTFEST
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Avenged Sevenfold, Judas Priest, and Ghost would be ideal, also Poem, Mother of millions, and Need as far as greek bands go! Headliners or not, we always prefer to play with cool people and will always have a blast.
9. Who not?
Any known fascists are out of the question!
10. Have Any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
None of us really experienced it heavily. Once you realize the power that you wield, while on stage, you won't even need the alcohol to go through with it. Cheers!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Our favorite bands have surely inspired each of us. But it would be hard to narrow it down, since everything we listen to, can have an effect on the way we write or perform.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Once a fan followed us to an after-party hang out which was cool at first, but then he was insisting on sleeping with us, in a non-sexual way.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans are half of what keeps us going. There is no better feeling than listening to them sing our songs and move to our music.
14. What do you think of our site?
Really organized, has lots of content, a great place to follow the underground rock & metal music scene.
15. Something to add?
Special thanks to all the people that have factored in the course of our careers and personal lives. They know who they are, and also who we are. Insert funny joke to close the interview. Oops, shouldn't have said that out loud.
