Interviews: Dame Tu Alma
This is a new interview with the Dark Rock band Dame Tu Alma from Switzerland. Check out the interview and follow the artist on his FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
Dame Tu Alma means basically “give me your soul” in Spanish. We are very direct and we always
like to get right to the point, so we decided to name the band depicting exactly what we came here
for.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
In the same way, we try to not get in the way of music while composing, we don’t let genres get in the
way of our expression. We didn’t choose any genre, our music is the closest translation to what we
feel and what we have in our minds, regardless of any boundaries or cages people always try to put
themselves in.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Robert Johnson
Paganini
Giuseppe Tartini
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We are heavily inspired by films, books, paintings, sculptures, poetry and Satan.
6. Where was your last gig?
It was in the north of Germany, we had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Stahlmann, we had a
blast and we keep really good memories from the show and all the great people we met there
7. Where would you like to perform?
We would love to be able to take our music everywhere where there are people that enjoy and feel
inspired by what we do.
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
Most of the people we would like to share the stage with are dead... Maybe it would be an interesting
interdimensional show.
9. Whom not?
Ourselves it would be a bit too redundant
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I guess everybody has some degree of nervousness, it is natural and it’s there because you want to
give the best of yourself. We feel that it is also good to have it until a certain amount because it
means that you still care. We compare it to extreme sports, you just dive into it nervously knowing
that things can go wrong but the feeling that you get out of it is so gratifying, that it is worth every
risk you are exposed to.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
We are more inspired by artists in all different sorts of art, so if you don’t mind us mentioning a few:
Eiko Ishioka, Wayne Barlowe, Dalí, Charles Baudelaire, Edgar Allan Poe, Patrick Süskind, Tim Burton, Danny
Elfman.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
If we demanded them to give us their souls, we could not think of anything that they could ask us
for that would make us raise our eyebrows. We love weirdos.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are our prosthetic family
14. What do you think of our site?
We find it really well made, love the way you guys are introducing music to listeners
15. Something to add?
Ave Satanas
