Interviews: DramaScream
This is a new interview with the Hard Rock band DramaScream from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?
We were trying to find names that were different but still stayed true to our style. Our guitarist Steve said that I was a DramaQueen and we sort of played off that, since we incorporate harsh vocals we went with Scream instead of Queen. We also can't stand people's drama, and our local scene is so intertwined and wrapped up in drama that we decided it would have a double meaning.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We all gravitate towards hard rock and metal. It's our go-to for everything. Pissed off, listen to metal. Going to the gym, throw on some hard rock. You got screwed over by someone, what better genre can hit all of your emotions?
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Steve and I (Lauren) knew each other from a previous project. We then met Greg through the local band scene and Justin was recommended to us when we were looking for a drummer.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Lauren: Killswitch Engage
Steve: Pantera
Justin: Animals as Leaders
Greg: Radiohead
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
The ebbs and flows of life, and the world around us. Having the 4 of us all go through various ups and downs, we are able to touch on subjects we feel strongly about so that our message is authentic.
6. Where was your last gig?
The Odeon- Cleveland, Ohio, Opening for Hinder.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would love to go on tour all over the NY and East Coast Area. Our ultimate gig would be playing download fest.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We would love to play with Motionless White, Jinjer, In Flames, and Ice Nine Kills.
9. Who not?
Luke Bryan
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I (Lauren) sometimes get anxious when performing, and I go through a series of breathing exercises before I go on stage.
The rest of the guys go through warm-ups and sit in a quiet area 30 minutes before we go on stage. The best way to get over it is to keep practicing and performing and find your own ritual that calms you and puts you in the zone.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
CKY, Linkin Park, Killswitch Engage, Radiohead, Gojira.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We have not had too many odd requests yet, so I can't really think of anything.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love our fans, we wouldn't be doing any of this if it wasn't for our fans. They are the driving force behind our music. Live shows are where we thrive, there is no greater feeling than being up on that stage and having people sing your music back to you.
14. What do you think of our site?
Your site is wicked. We love all the bands that you feature.
15. Something you'd like to add?
Thank you so much for taking the time with us, GO OUT AND LISTEN TO DRAMASCRAM!
