Interviews: Phrenetix

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, plan it or come out just like that?
While searching for a band's name, we were pretty 'messed up' at that time, so we tried to mirror that
in our name. Frantic was a good word that suited us, but unfortunately - very popular. So we added a
couple of letters and Phrenetix was born. For me, it stands for a wish to create beauty out of chaos.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
It’s energetic, fun, and has party vibes. Also, the first bands we’ve started to listen to were thrash metal
bands, so it lies deep in us.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, actually nobody knew no one.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Lina – Metallica
Paulius – Rainbow
Daumantas – Metallica
Martynas – Robert Glasper
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Mostly, inspiration comes from certain states of emotions. Sadness, anger, and hype are the biggest
inspirations for me. Sometimes it is music I get obsessed with. But I like to take the general vibe from
that music more than the material.
6. Where was your last gig?
Vilnius, Club nArauti, 2022 04 02
7. Where would you like to perform?
In the U.S.A. and Australia.
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
Metallica, Mastodon, Tool, Primus, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, D.R.I., Municipal Waste.
9. Whom not?
Cannot say anything specifically, but with the bands who have egoistic douchebag members.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes, I had stage fright, but not playing a metal show, it was during my studies at Music Academy.
The only tip would be that you need to be ready at 120% with your material. If something is not sitting
tightly, then you are opening doors widely to anxiety.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Metallica, Megadeth, Twelve Foot Ninja, Ghost, Toxik, Ensiferum.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
After one gig, one of our friends asked to sign his penis. Paulius did that.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are open-minded and always support us amazingly. We are so damn grateful and happy for having
them!
14. What do you think of our site?
It’s awesome. You are doing a great job with spreading the word about new bands!
