Interviews: Rose Funeral

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Ryan just came up with it one day and we went with it because we thought it sounded catchy

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all loved and grew up listening to death metal and deathcore was in its infancy at the time. It just kind of happened.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Me (Kevin) and Ryan knew each other before the band formed. Our older bands (Buried But Breathing and Son of Day) used to play shows together in Louisville when we were about 17 and 18.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Kevin: Decapitated, but not the new stuff

Ryan: Decapitated

Timmy: Cradle of Filth

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Inspiration comes from all kinds of things. One day I’ll write 2 songs in a few days and then I’ll go for a month where nothing sounds good. Not even my guitar tones. It's extremely frustrating sometimes but I have to say that when I see a band I love to play live just kills the show…There’s nothing else that makes me want to go home and write music more than that.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was at Bogart's in Cincinnati in 2014

7. Where would you like to act?

Europe

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

The Black Dahlia Murder, Spite, Archspire, Vulvodynia

9. Who not?

Trapt

10. Have any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not that I’m aware of.

Alcohol seems to work for a lot of people. Just don’t overdo it and don’t let the drummer drink.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Cannibal corpse and the black dahlia murder.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for

Probably to autograph their skin because they didn’t have anything else to use.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans. They’re the real OGs

14. What do you think of our site?

I haven’t checked it out but I’m sure it’s amazing.
