Interviews About Albums: Monodyssey - Monodyssey (2022)
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
This is our debut EP recorded at a local studio in our hometown of Mission Texas. These songs, while initially written in our jam space, were altered and edited after many live gigs playing our local circuit of venues
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
The EP is titled after our band name Monodyssey; the reason for the self-title is that it's capturing us, the band, at our rawest. We recorded the songs/vocals in one day and it felt right to have a self-title at the very beginning of our discography.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
Most of the composing and arrangements come from our guitarist Eddie. We're a 3 piece band and while we like to give ourselves the freedom to arrange our individual parts; when it comes to composing and songwriting; Eddie brings the ideas to the table.
4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?
We spent alot of time; weeks, after recording with the owner of the studio on mixing because every song is truly different than the rest and no master mix worked with all 4 songs the same. I think we're the proudest of the last track on the EP, Siren's Tongue
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?
We're 3 dudes challenging ourselves with instruments and writing creative music that gets us motivated to continue. If there's a message we want to consciously send out with our songs its love for our friends/ families and those who support what we do
6. Are there some lyrics that you´d love to share?
If you listen to the music, you'll get a fuller picture. No, thank you
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
We love to listen to Sepultura, Mastodon, Tool, Neurosis, and High on Fire. Many other influences too outside of metal.
8. Something to add?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and support what we're doing. Much love from the deep south texas.
