Interviews: Grumpster

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Lalo’s mom would call him a Grumpster whenever he got an attitude, and when we were throwing names around it felt good.

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

We’re too bad to play anything else, and it’s damn fun!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yup! we worked together at a music store.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Donnie: Alkaline Trio

Lalo: Green Day

Noel: The Strokes

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Playing our songs lives is pretty inspiring to write new ones.

6. Where was your last gig?

We’re on the road right now supporting Like Pacific on their Control My Sanity tour, so it could be a lot of places by the time this comes out.. check the flyer and catch us at the next one!

7. Where would you like to play?

Europe, Japan, everywhere!

I don’t know... we’re pretty open

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Of course, we all have! Our best advice is to just do it, it’s always nerve-wracking.. but it gets easier.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There’s a long history of great bands coming out of the Bay Area scene, and it’s cool to think that we’re working towards that too.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We don’t think anything’s weird! The fact that someone might want a setlist, drumstick, or have us shave their head is flattering to us.

We love them!
