Interviews: Pånnivågn

This is a new interview with the Rock 'N' Roll band Pånnivågn from Norway. Check out the interview and follow the artist on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Pånnivågn: We really don’t remember, but I think it was because one of the band members read about “diligence (vehicle)” in a dictionary before our first concert in 2003, and the word was described as something like “pony wagon” – “Pånnivågn” in Norwegian. At that time, we didn’t have a name, so our lead singer at the time just said “Hello we are Pånnivågn” when the band entered the stage for the very first time. After that we became Pånnivågn.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Pånnivågn: We just love it! We’re rock ‘n roll fans, and have a great dedication to music. In the beginning, we were a Nu-Metal band, but over the years we have moved towards the alternative rock scene, with influences from both punk rock, metal, and pop music. Pånnivågn in 2022 can be described as stadium rock with sing-along choruses.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Pånnivågn: Yes. The band was founded in 2003 in the little village of Follafoss, Norway, and it all began with a local talent show. The band members were childhood friends with a common interest in rock music.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Pånnivågn: At first we were inspired by the Swedish band LOK. They were big favorites when we were teenagers. Today we listen to many different bands and get inspiration from everywhere, but if we have to mention one band it has to be Metallica.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Pånnivågn: Everyday life

6. Where was your last gig?

Pånnivågn: We did a release concert for the EP “Dansen” in our own hometown. The concert was in an old car repair shop, and the show was in the workshop hall. Very cool venue! It was a sold-out crowd, and people went crazy! Next up is the rock festival Feskslo in Åndalsnes, Norway.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Pånnivågn: The Pstereo Festival in Trondheim is a dream, and of course, we want to do a gig outside of Norway sometime.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Pånnivågn: Have to be Metallica!

9. Have any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Pånnivågn: I´m sorry, we do not have a good answer on that.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Pånnivågn: Same as question 4.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Pånnivågn: We have never got any weird questions, but at several gigs girls are flashing their tits or trying to grab us on the balls. That’s weird, haha.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Pånnivågn: We simply love them! Without them we are nothing!

14. What do you think of our site?

Pånnivågn: It’s a great site! Keep on rocking!

15. Something to add?

Pånnivågn: Well, we just released the EP “Dansen” (“The Dance” in English), and in September /October we will release our third album! We promise an album filled with tidbits, riffs, and rock ‘n roll! We are really looking forward to that! In the meantime tune in on our latest release.
