Interviews: DEIMOON
This is a new interview with the Gothic Metal band DEIMOON from France/Poland. Check out the interview and follow the band at their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?
Most of the melodies for our first songs were created during full moon nights. Thus, there was
obvious to us that “moon” will be part of the band name. That is how we started. The rest came
spontaneously during our conversations. The name itself does not have a meaning and is rather a
wordplay of contradictions: DAY – MOON and DEI – DEMON. This might not be so obvious as it is all
about phonetics and 2 different languages (English and Latin). After a couple of glasses of French red
wine or some shots of Polish vodka, it starts to make sense.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We play the music that we both like and we do not think much about music genres. We leave the
classifications to others. Yet, our music and the esthetics circulate around gothic/doom metal.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We “met” on the internet during covid lockdowns. The first things we did were covers. Then we try out
our own ideas and they worked well, so we decided to start a band.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Currently, it looks like this:
CHAG: SYBREED
P.T.: DEAD CAN DANCE
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Generally, life emotions. Piss me off or make me sad and with high probability, I will compose you a
nice melody. Also, an interesting movie, a book, music, or a conversation.
6. Where was your last gig?
No gig so far.
7. Where would you like to act?
Wherever – just to play our songs.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Paradise Lost.
9. Who not?
We come along well with everyone
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
We have stage experience from the past bands. Whereas stage fright was never paralyzing, it is
always there before the gig. Prepare yourself musically the best you can and deliver it on the stage!
The biggest stage fright usually disappears after one or two well-played songs.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
It was the music of Paradise Lost that inspired us to start a band.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We are a very young band and contact to the fans is usually over social media. Seems like the
weirdest question is yet to be asked.
13. What do you think of your fans?
There are not many of them but they are fantastic! They give us lots of energy to go on.
14. What do you think of our site?
It offers a much broader music spectrum than the name would suggest. A very well-structured website
with a high interest in newcomers! We need more such attitudes out there in this music media jungle!
15. Something to add?
Thanks for the interest in Deimoon. Please, check out our music. You will find it on all the most popular
platforms out there. See you on the road!
