Interviews: Midnight Road

This is a new interview with the Rock 'N' Roll band Midnight Road from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE. 

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

When you like American rock ‘n roll, certain images and stories from LA always come to your mind: party nights, fast cars, and there it was... “Midnight Road” perfectly fulfilling all our requirements.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Which one could we play instead? Is there any other?

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We did not know each other, but we all went to the same pubs and bars in our hometown. Besides, we had mutual friends who introduced us to each other, and, little by little, the band’s current lineup was finalized. However, we have been together for so many years that it is getting rather long! (Laughs) Just kidding, we love each other.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Jambo: Pantera

Jon: H.E.A.T

Jose: Led Zeppelin

Josu: Airbourne

Iñigo: Metallica

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Songs are usually born in our rehearsal place. When one of us has a good idea, we all try to develop it further till... magic happens... and voilà! We’ve got another hit.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was a tribute concert in memory of a great friend of the band, Jon Franco, to whom we all owe so much (Rock on till our days are gone). The Covid-19 pandemic disrupted our plans, just like it disrupted all band’s plans. But now we are ready to come back to the music scene and we are willing to fill all concert venues and stages with our power and energy.

7. Where would you like to act?

At concert venues and festivals worldwide where people feel passion for rock ‘n roll. Wembley in particular would not be a bad choice, though.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

GNR, Aerosmith, AC/DC... and with any of the bands with whom we have had great times since we were kids.

9. Who not?

We hate cover bands. JUST PLAY YOUR OWN MUSIC!!! Just kidding again, we get on well with everybody and we really value all those musicians who choose to follow this difficult path (laughs).

10. Have any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No, luckily we have never suffered from stage fright, quite the opposite. We are usually willing to go onto the stage and do what we like doing, just letting out everything we have got inside ourselves. Regarding some pieces of advice... We heard somewhere that thinking about naked people might help!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Slash, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Kiss, Whitesnake, Ozzy... any of the great rock ‘n roll gods.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We had the great chance to perform as a supporting band at one of Slash’s concerts. Just when we were leaving the venue, a crowd of people gathered at the back of the concert hall stopped us. We rolled down the car windows and suddenly we were signing autographs just as if we were the real Guns N Roses!! It is just an anecdote since those people obviously were not waiting for us, but it made us feel like real Rockstars!

13. What do you think of your fans?

They have no common sense! Need You is not the best song by Midnight Road, and we were drunk when we recorded it. Please stop asking for it! (laughs). Now, leaving jokes aside, we have the best fans in the world!

14. What do you think of our site?

It is an awesome sight and it offers a great opportunity for bands to come to the spotlight. We are really grateful for this interview.
