Interviews: Pit Lord

This is a new interview with the Barbecue Death Metal band Pit Lord from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Dan: I honestly don't remember how I came up with the name but I approached Lyndon with the band name and premise and we immediately agreed this was something we wanted to do.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Dan: We love BBQ and death metal. Who wouldn't want to?

Lyndon: it seemed like a no-brainer for sure. It came really natural to us haha

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Dan: We have actually been friends since we met in high school so going on 15+ years of friendship.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Dan: I don't think either of us has a favorite band. We listen to way too much to pick just one.

Lyndon: Pretty much. If I HAD to pick I'd say Bolt Thrower but that could change weekly

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Dan: Mostly pork, but also beef and chicken

6. Where was your last gig?

Dan: Our last gig was in Kentucky. We're really looking forward to our next two in Chicago and Wisconsin in the next couple of weeks.

7. Where would you like to act?

Dan: At BBQ festivals across the country.

Lyndon: GwarBQ I feel would be perfect haha. But really want to go everywhere. Especially to sample the barbecue.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Dan: Well we just got Sherwood from Skinless so I'm not sure honestly. Maybe Ross Sewage?

9. Whom not?

Dan: vegetarians

Lyndon: pop/punk bands

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Dan: I have and still do from time to time. I'd suggest a rack of ribs with a side of mac n cheese. You won't care about much after that feast.

Lyndon: It's rare nowadays but it can happen. A shot of fireball and some hot sauce will usually take care of it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Dan: I'm a huge Metallica fan and early on that had a big influence on my playing. Death, Cannibal Corpse Dimmu Borgir, and Morbid Angel are high on my list of influences as well.

Lyndon: Morbid Angel definitely, Bolt Thrower, a lot of random black metal bands I can't remember

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Dan: The food from the grill on stage. That comes up a lot and for the record... no, you can't have any.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Dan: They have great taste.

14. What do you think of our site?

Pit Lord: Great interviews!

15. Something to add?

Keep GRILLIN!
