Interviews: PRAISE THE SUN

This is a new interview with the Death Metal band PRAISE THE SUN from Poland. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

The idea came from one of our, at that time, close people. We recognized that as a great idea for a name characterizing our music and ourselves view.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

On the Polish metal scene, we had to decide, which way for us will be the best. Daniel and Mateusz are some kind of yin-yang, deathly rhythm parts and melodic line’s gave us quite a simple effect, that Melodic Death Metal will be the best choice. It's also a Gold mean for a wide range of our tastes in music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Before Praise the Sun, only Daniel and Wojciech know each other. They were playing in another band, some years before the PTS. For the rest of the team, it's just a quirk of fate.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Marcelina - Pink Floyd, Lamb of God, Guns N’ Roses

Daniel - good-old In Flames, Decapitated, Suffocation, Heaven Shall Burn, While She Sleeps

Mateusz - Scar Symmetry, Red Fang, Faith no More, Mastodon, Dimension Zero 

Konrad - It depends on the year, season, day of the week, or even an hour

Wojciech - Motorhead, Pantera

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We take inspiration from all over the world, anything, everything, and everyone can inspire us. Sometimes it's just a sentence thrown at a random moment during our meetings or a book that someone read last time.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Warsaw, at Metal Cave.

7. Where would you like to act?

We don't really care where, unless there is at least one person who wants to listen to our music :). Of course, our long term plan is to play at as many festivals as we can. Wacken or 70000 Tons of Metal? 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

With everyone who treats us as an equal.

9. Who not?

Anyone who will not.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

For sure! All of us at some point had stage fright, it's a part of playing concerts but at some point, it turns more into adrenaline.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Everyone in PTS smiles hearing "In Flames", but the longer we play, the more we get away from it.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Marcelina: "Can you sign my tits?" (that was a request from a male)

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love them! That’s the best part of making a band - when the gig is over and people want to talk with us, ask for autographs and high-fives... one of the best feelings.

14. What do you think of our site?

We really like the name of your site :D Also, it's just great that you are supporting metal music!
