Interviews: Unholy Harakiri
This is a new interview with the Deathcore band Unholy Harakiri from Brazil. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?
We were looking for band names starting with the letter U and we could only remember U2 (rsrs). We wanted a band name formed by two titles so we decided to begin it with Unholy, then the Harakiri was an easy choice due the difficult times we were all living as band members, friends and humans in the year 2020 which brought us all that gloomy mood.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
When you hear extreme metal music you don't feel alone, you always know there is someone just like you somewhere else living the same struggles and difficulties and you can relate to them, so we wanted to make part of it. This is the best way to de-stress
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, we did. We'd play together for many years in festivals as different bands. For that reason, we got ourselves closer to each other and couldn't help it to start a new band together
4. Each band member's favorite band?
We all hear a lot of different bands and genres, but nowadays Yukio's favorite band is The Black Dahlia Murder, Maikon is hearing a lot of Signs of the Swarm lately and Raphael is into a lot of Deftones
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Seinen anime, Japanese culture, dystopian futurism like cyberpunk, and world despair are what inspires us the most.
6. Where was your last gig?
We are getting ready to perform as we are still releasing our first full album. From the formation of the band until now, we are preparing the band and rehearsing our asses off to make the best live presentation possible
7. Where would you like to act?
We would love to play even a small gig, as long as with people who appreciate our message and energy, despite where it would be. We believe that it is more fulfilling than just throw here a lot of big metal festival names like Wacken, Bloodstock, Hellfest, Pinkpop, etc
8. Whom would you like to feature with and whom not?
We would appreciate making part of the history of almost all artists of the world's modern metal scene, except for lame bands that are raising fascism and oppression flags in their music and life examples.
9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes, we had. In the begging, all of us can feel a little scared and anxious but the best we can do in this situation, is what do every time something like fear get in our way, that is remember all the things that brought us here and how much you want to do this and how gratifying it is when you up there doing the best you can and delivering all you got to the crowd before you.
10. What bands have inspired you the most?
Lately Brand of Sacrifice, Dropout Kings, AlphaWolf, Soulfly, and Maximum the Hormone
11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We don't have that many fans yet. If you are reading this and consider yourself a Unholy Harakiri fan, please ask us for something weird
12. What do you think of your fans?
We think they have a very sophisticated taste for art and music so they can understand very easily all our references in the songs (rsrs)
13. What do you think of our site?
We have just discovered the site and we are very happy to be a part of this interview. You guys are doing a great job for the underground bands from Brazil. We hope that there are still many Brazilian bands on your news portal. Congrats on the website. We hope to be here more often
14. Something to add?
Embrace all the world heterogeneity and diverseness and take care of your and all your beloved's mental health.
