Interviews About Albums: Frau Fleischer - Shining Star (2022)

In this new interview, we sat down with the French Industrial Metal band FRAU FLEISCHER to ask some questions about their new album "Shining Star". 

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Greg: To us, it’s already an old album but we are still proud of it. It’s the first step of a journey, we discovered each other and tried to find who we are as a band. Since we have already released 2 singles, the most important being “Shining Star” as it is a fresh start since our singer left us and I now take care of the vocal duties.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Greg: It is a part of the lyrics of our song “Bad Girl”. Our previous singer asked if it could be the name of the album and we all agreed. When the sun’s down we are all so different and who knows what happens then …

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Greg: Franz & I throw musical ideas to each other and step by step we build a song. Then Gabriel (ex-singer) used to write the lyrics after the music part was ok and now I write the lyrics as soon as I can see where the song is heading.

4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Greg: It would be “Shining Star” our latest single available on all the streaming platforms. On our first album, I would say Sacrifice as it is the very first song we worked on all together.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Greg: It is a message of freedom, tolerance, and love. Live and let live. We spend so little time in this reality so there is no time to lose with narrow-minded petty people.

6. Are there some lyrics that you´d love to share?

Greg: “Winner loser, these words mean nothing to me Winner loser, who can say who is who? Don’t feel the need to be sorry No shame, you’re such a shining star” Obviously it’s the chorus from Shining Star and as said earlier it’s really about living its life the way we want.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Greg: Well, Franz & I are lucky as our partners are really supportive and we can’t thank them enough. Our families too and they are so many bands that make us wanna do this: Metallica, VNV Nation, Rammstein, Faith No More, Hocico, and many more! But most importantly, our fans! Without them we are nothing and we have a strong bond with a very supportive following and it grows and grows day after day. We are super stoked & so full of joy when we receive this beautiful positive energy from our fans. And thank you Breaking the Core for giving us the opportunity to reach new people that will soon be fans hopefully.

8. Something to add?

Greg: Well, some people thought the band would be dead without Gabriel and we are more than happy to prove them wrong. We are stronger than ever, and I can already tell you our next song called “Toxic Pathetic Love” is such a banger we can’t wait for sharing it with the world! And please stay safe y’all!
