Interviews: As Paradise Falls

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore band, As Paradise Falls from Australia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

We came up with the band name (As Paradise Falls) while playing Fallout 3 looking for a place in the game that wasn’t a wasteland. In the game, we found a place called Paradise Falls which we were convinced was going to be the spot, but it was just as shit as everywhere else which we found very funny, so we named ourselves As Paradise Falls.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We have never strived to play a specific genre or subgenre, we just play what feels good at the time and so long as it’s heavy we’re into it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Danny and I (Ravi) knew each other for a few months before starting As Paradise Falls, but we hated each other for most of that time because we were both in love with the same girl. Eventually, we understood that she had no interest in either of us, and our adoration shifted to one another rather than the girl. I’ll always thank her for that…

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Danny’s all-time favorite band brings me the horizon or Emmure, mine would have to be Misery Signals.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We write about whatever feels right at the time, on this release we’ve hit at things that have been especially annoying to us; Cancel Culture, aging, a lack of head and shoulders, etc.

6. Where was your last gig?

I can’t remember the last gig we played! It has been such a long time so all of that pent-up energy will be spent on our first show back.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play a show in a massive igloo

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Our ideal tour would be with Emmure and Spite. Or a collaboration with Doja Cat…

9. Whom not?

We wouldn’t want to collaborate with Ocean Shores again. Those dudes know what they did.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright was definitely a challenge at the start, the key is just fake it til you make it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The bands that have inspired us the most have changed drastically over the years, for this release Danny was listening to a lot of UK Grime as well as heavy shit like Emmure, Korn, Chelsea Grin and Slaughter to Prevail. Ravi was listening to heavy stuff and kids songs.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The weirdest thing a fan has asked for was a lock of Danny’s hair, he obviously said no. Luckily for the fan, I’m the nicest dude ever and cut off some of Danny’s hair while he slept and gave it to them. I think it’s become part of a little shrine somewhere now, maybe it’s been used to create another Danny clone somewhere. 

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans! It’s always awesome to see that our music has had some impact, especially when it makes people move around.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is my second favorite website to visit in my private time.

15. Something to add?

I wish I were bigger.
