Interviews: Sermon Of Mockery

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Brutal Death Metal band, Sermon Of Mockery from Ukraine. Check out the interview.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Our drummer Lev thought of it. He and Oleh wrote all the music. they are pretty much the leaders of the band. He named the band after the legendary Pyrexia album.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I feel death metal is one of the genres I know and I’m decent at. On and off for over 30 years, I’ve been singing death metal.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No actually we never met each other in person. I’m from the United States and the other three members are from Ukraine. We did this whole project as file shares over the internet.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Wow, I would have to email those guys and I can’t answer one. I would be writing a book here. I can give you a few from for me, D.R.I. Bad Religion, Agnostic Front, Hatebreed, Demolition Hammer, Cannibal Corpse, GG Allen, The Ramones, Ozzy, The Doors, Waco Jesus, Dying Fetus, Skinless, Obituary, and Deicide.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Something really crazy that happens in life, a good movie, something that makes an impact on me.

6. Where was your last gig?

My last show was with my priority band Mortal Decay at Rage Fest in Buffalo, NY on 8-13-2022.

7. Where would you like to act?

I like strictly playing death festivals.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Really anyone in the death metal scene.

9. Who not?

I can’t think of anyone, I’ll play with anyone.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really, I feel comfortable up there. Maybe if it’s a huge crowd I might get a little nervous, but it goes away after the drummer's first stick count then my adrenaline kicks in.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

All the ones I mentioned in question 4.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I was never approached with anything weird or unusual.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are great, I highly respect each and every one of them and I’m very fortunate to have them.

14. What do you think of our site?

I like it, it’s very cool.
