Interviews: SKOGARMAOR

This is a new interview with the Nordic Folk artist SKOGARMAOR from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

So being Pagan and this being my first solo adventure I obviously wanted it to sit perfectly with describing me. SKOGARMAOR means forest men/and or outsider and I spend a lot of my time in nature and certainly tend to be the outsider among my family.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

In my area I'm known for being in black and death metal bands and for my solo adventure I wanted to be able to showcase other talents and I wanted a challenge as well to step outside my norm.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

There is only me in this and I still don't know who I am.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

IMPOSSIBLE to pick!!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

LIFE and the tribulations that come with it.

6. Where was your last gig?

So I haven't performed live with this project yet but my last live performance was with a death metal band and we shared the stage with Deicide and Kataklsym in Spartanburg SC at an amazing venue called GroundZero.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere that would have me.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Anyone that shares the same passion for music and that would be interested in my story.

9. Whom not?

Anyone that hates art and music

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

So for me, I'd say early in my career I remember being super nervous all the time but I learned to let the music consume me and take control and when you look at the audience and you see them smiling or moshing then feed off that energy and just relax but give it hell!!!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For this particular project Wardruna, Nyttland, and Danheim. I spend a lot of time camping and hiking and they are my go-to for relaxation

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

If they could borrow my merch mannequin...

13. What do you think of your fans?

Their amazing and I'm very thankful to be able to create art that someone can relate to or simply enjoy it!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's amazing thank you for sharing your love of music with others to help explore new bands!!

15. Something to add?

My full-length album "The Croom Sagas will be out in the fall of this year 2022 !!
