Interviews: Temptations For The Weak
This is a new interview with the Metal band Temptations For The Weak from Belgium. Check out the entire interview and give them a follow on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or
came out just like that?
Originally we wanted to name ourselves “Buried at sea” ‘cause we’re
big Architects fans but since that name was already taken, we decided
to go with “Temptations for the weak”. This was a part of a lyric of
one of our first songs.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Our influences early on were bands like Killswitch Engage, Trivium,
etc so wanted to go in that direction as well. We just love to have a lot
of freedom and variety in our songs.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, throughout the years we’ve met each other at gigs or someone
who was already in the band brought a mutual friend to the group.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
There are far too many great bands so it’s pretty much impossible to
name just one favorite band. Most of us have pretty much the same
taste in music. Just to name a few; Gojira, Machine Head, Revocation,
Killswitch Engage, Textures, Sepultura, At The Gates,…
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Most songs are written by our guitarist/singer Djoni. It depends on the
mood and the time period. Some songs write themselves while others
are benched for multiple years. Like the song “In between”. The main
riffs were written during the first full album/the forming years of the
band but the song never really worked, till now.
6. Where was your last gig?
Gullegem Metalfest, which is on the West-side of the country. Great
crowd, great organization, good times!
7. Where would you like to act?
A slot as a support act for one of our favorite bands would be nice.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Pretty much the same answer as above, if a nice opportunity presents
itself, we’re all for it!
9. Who not?
We’re open to everything.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for
beginners on how to beat that?
Not really. Usually, you’re feeling a sense of excitement at the start of
a big show but once you’ve played the first song and everything is
sounding great, you start to really enjoy your time on stage. That’s
pretty much the piece of advice, try to enjoy your every show, no
matter the size of it.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Probably the bands we listened to in our teens/when we were growing
up.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
So far nothing really. Most people we meet are pretty cool.
13. What do you think of your fans?
A lot of cool people and we keep meeting new ones every show. It’s
very rewarding, especially when they comment the day after about
how much they’ve enjoyed the show, it’s the best feedback you can
get as a band.
14. What do you think of our site?
Hats off, seems like you guys are putting a lot of time and effort into
promoting tons of bands. Well done!
15. Something to add?
Thanks for reading and be sure to check out our music!
