Interviews: Building Upon The Revelation

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Progressive Metal/Instrumental artist, Building Upon The Revelation from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the artist on his FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name came from an article I was reading about Nikola Tesla and the wireless transmission of electricity.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

That's a good question, but I don't have a great answer. I love the drumming of progressive and black metal, and I really enjoy the freedom of instrumental music. Vocal music seems to get chained into tight structures with lots of repetition. Long story long, it's the only place I fit somewhat right now.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

This is a solo project, so yeah I knew the other members...

4. Each band member's favorite band?

It changes, I don't know if I have a favorite band or even a type of music. My current go-to's are Claude Debussey, Medicine (early albums) Immortal (damned in black)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It's generally reading, I will find some point or subject that sparks ideas and it takes off from there.

6. Where was your last gig?

Sonicollision Festival, Auburn Indiana

7. Where would you like to act?

I would not, I would like to make music for interesting shows or films. No interest in that life.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I don't know, I really don't think about that type of situation. Anyone who needs weird guitar work.

9. Whom not?

I will keep this one to myself.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Honestly yes, there have been times. I would say visualize the gig, and make sure you picture it being successful! Play live enough that it feels good and last remembers it's supposed to be fun for you and entertaining for the audience.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Tony Macalpine, Vinnie Moore, Yngwie Malmsteen, Angel Vivaldi, Medicine, My Bloody Valentine, Olafur Arnalds, Peter Sandberg, Immortal, Mendel, I don't know, I'm sure that I'm missing so many

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I signed autographs for a band that didn't exist yet because I was at an after-party of a huge band that I was friends with. It was in London and it was a scene, right place, right time I guess. The place was loaded with members of happening bands so they just assumed I was someone to know. I guess I embellished a bit, but here we are now...

13. What do you think of your fans?

If I have any, they are the best.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site looks great, a lot of good bands and info

15. Something to add?

Please check out the record "The pathways of discipline". and Thank you so much for having me.
