Interviews: Eyes Of Perdition
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band, Eyes Of Perdition from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Our band name was inspired by the Despised Icon song, “In the Arms of Perdition.”
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Lindsay O. (vocals): I grew up in the hardcore scene and was in a few bands growing up, mostly on vocals. I was a huge Cryptopsy fan (Lord Worm is a major influence vocally), and really wanted to start a project that was a hybrid of brutal death metal and the raw, hardcore bands that I was influenced by.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Chasen (Vogel / guitar and bass), Terence (Harper / guitar and bass), and Dekota (Martin) drums, all knew each other prior to the band forming; I joined in 2019.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Lindsay O.: Cryptopsy, Nile, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Abominable Putridity, Gorguts, X - the list goes on.
Chasen Vogel: Necrophagist
Terence Harper: Chamber of Malice, Analepsy, No Zodiac, Oceano, All Shall Perish
Dekota Martin: The Last Ten Second of Life, Kublai Khan, Molotov Solution
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Lindsay O.: I draw influence from personal experiences with overcoming many difficult circumstances; lyrics are inspired by overcoming the darkness that comes from trauma.
We each take a role in adding our own flair to the music; Chasen takes the lead often in composing the initial riffs and ideas for our songs.
6. Where was your last gig?
We recently played in Vegas; have some shows and tours on the horizon.
7. Where would you like to act?
Europe and South America
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We would love to play with anyone; touring with some of our slam heroes would be amazing.
9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
I think it’s natural to feel that way on occasion; you just channel it into your performance.
10. What bands have inspired you the most?
Ingested, Necrophagist Abominable Putridity, Kublai Khan, Cryptopsy
11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing out of the box yet!
12. What do you think of your fans?
They’re all super rad !
