Interviews: Insanity61
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band, Insanity61 from Switzerland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get
the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
That wasn't planned
at all. We chose it when we were teenagers and just thought it was cool. Today we can clearly see that it's not the best band name since it's a bit too generic. So at some point, we added the "61" in order to give it more individuality. "61" are the first two
letters of the postal codes of the towns that we're all from.
2. Why did you want
to play this genre?
Because we grew up in
the Hardcore scene but were also big Metal fans. So we wanted to combine the two genres.
3. Did you know each
other before the band was formed?
Yes, we're five best
friends and we've known each other for a very long time, mostly since we were kids/teenagers.
4. Who or what inspires
you to write songs?
We're inspired by fighters. Women, oppressed people, minorities, and the supposedly weak who fight for justice. This is what drives us and our messages. Musically, our influences reach from Old School Hiphop to modern Metalcore and everything in between.
5. Where was your
last gig?
Reitschule, Bern,
Switzerland.
6. Where would you
like to act?
We've seen many places
with our band and there's no limit. We want to explore as many places in the world as possible.
7. Whom would you
like to feature with?
Jamie Jasta of Hatebreed.
Funny guy with an insane voice.
8. Whom not?
Donald Trump. His
vocal performances suck.
9. Have any of you
ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Not really, since
we've been doing this for a long time and have grown steadily. One advice: Always remember that this is all just supposed to be fun, so don't make it complicated. You want to have fun, the audience is there to have fun, so just connect with the people and
have fun. That's all that matters and with that in mind, there's absolutely no need to be nervous.
10. What bands have
inspired you the most?
Many. But to name
a few important ones: Madball, Lamb of God, Beastie Boys, Ignite, Sick of it All.
11. What do you think
of your fans?
They are just the
greatest. A bunch of really good, nice people who love to party and celebrate the values of Hardcore.
12. What do you think
of our site?
It's truly impressive
to see so much content. We love sites like yours that have dedicated their work to bringing people the underground!
