Interviews About Albums: GRANDE ROYALE - Welcome To Grime Town (2023)
In this new interview, we sat down with the American Rock 'N' Roll band GRANDE ROYALE to ask some questions about their latest album "Welcome To Grime Town".
1. What can you say about this new album?
We Produced it by ourselves and all of the guys in the band were involved in the writing sessions. We have
our new member Calle who plays guitar and it really has an impact on The sound. We have worked with a lot
of background vocals and on Utopia, every member sings each verse. It's a good rock album IF you ask us.
Can't wait to play it live.
2. What is the meaning of the name ”Welcome to Grime Town”?
The bass player has a cabin in a small village called Grimeton and that's where we said welcome to Calle. It's
not harder than that :)
3. Who is the composer of the album?
Me Gustav, the singer writes most of it but all The guys are important in the writing.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
We are four members and I think you get different answers for each one of us. But my favorite is Status
doom. It has this catchy 'Status Quo' riff as well as some dark evil tones in it. I love when a song has both
darkness and light.
5. Is there a special message in this album? If there is, what is it?
Haha. Actually, it is. We recorded little Andy (former guitarist) and then we played it backward (in the song
'Status Doom'. The message is 'Hello I'm Andy and I will never Die, blah blah motherfuckers blah blah;
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
I'd say Freak parade, Augury, and Utopia have some good lyrics.
7. What inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd
love to thank especially?
Now when it's me who is answering this question, my number one inspiration has to be my wife. All of the
songs come to life somehow in the kitchen, while we are cooking a good meal with some wine and me
playing guitar while Tove tells me that 'that riff was cool'; or 'can you please stop playing that stupid shit' while
I'm fooling around on The guitar. So Tove is definitely a 'pre-producer' and an important piece of this album.
8. Something to add?
Thanks again to all of you who listen to our songs and buy our albums. Music is fun.
