Interviews: CRS

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band, CRS from Mexico. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name of the band comes from 1991, we were a band of teenagers who loved booze and metal music. Back then we didn't even have a name, then our followers started to call us Cirrosis. Nowadays we call ourselves CRS, it's a kind of abbreviation.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We want to talk about what makes us sick of this world, for this is important that music to sound strong and the best way to do it is through metal, an intense genre in every way. We love those powerful and strong riffs.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

CRS is a band of friends. The founder members were all friends (and still we are). Today we have new members and we have all know each other for decades, we were in the same high school. Kello Gonzalez is the only member we've met recently but feels like we’re friends since many years ago.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Sir OZ: Slayer

Chucky: Meshuggah Kello

Gonzalez: Metallica Tavo

Ramirez: Rush

Hideki: Dream theater

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Sir Oz writes almost all the lyrics. We as a band try to talk about what many in other genres of music avoid. The human being is an evil animal, his monstrosity has no limits and that bothers us. We talk about it in all its facets, which inspires us.

6. Where was your last gig?

7. Where would you like to act?

We want to play at important festivals in Mexico or overseas, we want our music to be heard by many people.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would like to play with bands like Fear Factory, Pantera, Meshuggah, Carcass, and Kreator.

9. Whom not?

We would play with any band.

10. Have any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

When you are looking to do things professionally there will always be a bit of anxiety, being responsible implies that you will feel afraid or scared but nobody should feel fear, the one that paralyzes you.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Meshuggah, Carcass, Fear Factory, Kreator, Napalm Death, Cynic, Pestilence, Death.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Our followers are awesome. We don't really remember something weird. It amazes us that they are always expecting something new from us.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are also fans of them. I think that is why there is a lot of respect, they are authentic, and we feed on it. We learn from them and we seek to give them a little of what we think they might like.

14. What do you think of our site?

It is a consolidated website. We really appreciate that you support the underground scene. We remember and appreciate that you made a note of the cover of our album "the collector of truths". I think you pay attention to detail and that makes all of you great.

15. Something to add?

We just want metal lovers to stay that way forever, no matter what. STAY BRUTAL!
