Interviews: GLAZERGIRL
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal/Rock artist, GLAZERGIRL from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the artist on her FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Glazergirl™ is a name I came up with back in 20009 for my MySpace account. I am in the glass industry by trade. So I was looking for Glazier Girl, Glass Chick, etc. Went with Glazergirl™ in the end.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I’m not married to any one genre, but I prefer hard rock. I just really enjoy it –especially when you hear the remarkable voices of many singers in the hard rock genre.
3. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I am inspired by the stories I hear from all walks of life. Then, you play a lick on the guitar, and something just holds me in place. And, suddenly, a song is formed.
4. Where was your last gig?
Glazergirl™ is just getting out there. Previously I fronted a metal band, and quite frankly I can’t remember the name of the place. Down here (in Florida) rock scene is tough for original acts unless you go above the Palm Beaches.
5. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I suffer from stage fright (or preshow excitement). LOL. But once I’m up on stage I am in my element. My advice is to just keep on plugging along to get through it---the more often you go up, as long as you keep it fresh and original, you will get into the rhythm of performing live.
6. What bands have inspired you the most?
Chris Cornell/Audioslave, Ronnie James Dio/Dio/Rainbow, Layne Staley/Alice in Chains, Billy Joel, Prince, Anything 80’s, Most of the ’90s, and digging in a bit on the 70s. I always enjoy good storytelling in a song.
7. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Seriously? Probably, my dirty sweaty post-workout undergarments.
8. What do you think of your fans?
I am grateful to my fans. I think they are awesome.
9. What do you think of our site?
I like it. I have followed it for a while. I’ve been included in it as time and incarnations have gone by. Very thorough.
10. Something you'd like to add?
It’s a tough industry. Work hard, stand up for yourself, but always remember to be kind.
