Interviews: Stormbreaker

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Metal band, Stormbreaker from Finland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Before deciding on the name we already had "Stormbreaker" single written and finally ended up using that as the band's name as well because it felt right and sounded cool!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We wanted to play something energetic and fast! Also, all of us love multiple melodic metal bands so the choice was a no-brainer.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us did, and some of us didn't. Forming this band was a great way to create new connections and friendships. But of course, we knew beforehand that everybody was a hell of a good musician!

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Obviously, many of us had difficulties choosing only one, but here they are:

Petri: Diablo, Gojira, Soilwork

Anni: Judas Priest, Arch Enemy, Dream Theater

Tomi: Queensrÿche

Jaakko: Diablo, Soilwork, Opeth

Tatu: Scar Symmetry

Sami: Moonsorrow, Steven Wilson, Vader

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Petri finds his inspiration from the things left unsaid and people touching themes. Anny finds hers from storytelling and compelling human destinies.

6. Where was your last gig?

The first is still yet to come! We're now all set to fire it away and start throwing gigs inside Finland first.

7. Where would you like to act?

To get to play at Finnish festivals like Tuska or John Smith would be amazing! But of course, it would be out of this world to experience Wacken open air someday too.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I bet everyone has suffered from it at some point. Preparing properly for the gigs always helps! When you know the songs by heart you should have nothing to worry about. Just focus on the vibe you'll get once you're on stage. It's the best feeling in the world!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I guess the list of everyone's favorite bands is a suitable answer to this one too, but let's add Amaranthe and Stratovarius to the list as well.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird has come along yet, can't wait for it to happen 😅

13. What do you think of your fans?

Everybody's been super supportive and giving amazing feedback on the songs, which warms our metallic hearts big time!
