Interviews: Aurora Dream
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Instrumental Metal/Progressive Metal project, Aurora Dream from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the project on his FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or came out just like that?
One night at one of these small venues / bars, I was asked to write down my artist name and I decided to go with Aurora Dream because that was a song name idea I had in mind for a while. After that show, it just felt right to keep the name because it also resembles how colorful and dreamy my music can be.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I think it's a genre that has a lot of room for creativity, I also enjoy the freedom of being able to express music ideas in ways that can be a little unusual (weird time signature changes, chords, etc) and still be able to translate them into something beautiful despite all the layers behind it and the technicality that comes with it.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We don't have a band, it's just me (Daniel Morales) at the moment.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
We don't have a band, it's just me at the moment.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Buckethead is definitely my biggest guitar inspiration if we are talking about musicians. However, I have always loved the feeling that I get from sharing my art to the world, I think it's a very powerful way to express something very intimate and profound about myself, something that has no words and yet can mean a thousand things and live on eternally, even when I'm gone.
6. Where was your last gig?
My last gig was in September of last year.
7. Where would you like to act?
I would like to perform at the Palladium in Worcester, MA.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I would love to work with John Petrucci.
9. Whom not?
I don't think I would want to collaborate with someone who doesn't inspire me as much.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Nope!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I think Dream Theater comes first, along with Scale the Summit, Guthrie Govan, and Buckethead. Most recently, I would say Chon, Polyphia, TTNG, Animals as Leaders, Covet, Plini, and Intervals.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
None of that has happened yet.
13. What do you think of your fans?
I think I don't have that many to form an opinion just yet! but I hope my music can be well received among the math rock, instrumental and progressive music community.
14. What do you think of our site?
I think it looks very cool, organized and user-friendly! I love it
15. Something you'd like to add?
Aurora Dream has another single coming up this week, this song features the renowned Australian guitarist Plini and his bassist Simon Grove, who have contributed to the track in a way that elevates it to new heights. The song showcases an innovative approach to guitar music, fusing hyper pop, drum&bass, and glitchcore elements with instrumental guitar music. This fusion of styles creates a rich, progressive, and melodic sound that stands out within the guitar scene. Stay tuned for that and help me share it!
Merch and Music Tabs are coming very soon, I'm also finishing a music video where I feature my favorite Japanese guitarist, I think fans will love this crossover and they should be excited.
