Welcome to this exclusive interview with Carbon County, the post-rock and psychedelic rock band known for their captivating sound. We'll be discussing their journey so far, from experimenting with different sounds to their current status as one of the most innovative bands in the scene. 1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Carbon is one of the 4 core elements that make up the entire Universe. We think anything with the word “County” after it sounds really redneck-y and therefore hilarious.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Black Sabbath is cool. We like goofy songs also.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

YES. We met at nursing school but got kicked out for smoking weed and wearing super tight nursing uniforms from the the 70’s

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Carbonite - Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner

Torque - Phantom of the Paradise (it’s a movie but fuck off anyway)

Tommy Soho - Molly Hatchet

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Inspired by misery, pain, selfish people, some joy, Gwar, David Bowie

6. Where was your last gig?

SXSW at some vintage clothing shop on Lavaca. Fucking dope.

7. Where would you like to act?

Up your bum.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Anyone cool AF

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Absolutely never. People confuse fright with excitement. Can’t wait to die while fucking.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bowie, Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Muddy Waters, ZZ Top, The Kinks, The Residents, Frank Zappa, Devo, AC/DC, Captain Beefheart.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

They asked us to stalk them and then show up at their house at 2am and crawl into bed with their mother.

They are obviously fucking geniuses

Try to love people even if they suck. Don’t hold back on artistic expression and don’t save money for anything.
