Interviews: Forget My Silence

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore band, Forget My Silence from Russia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name was an Idea from a video game dungeon. Anyone who’s played FFXIV would know. I spent way too much time in that place trying to grind levels out, kind of missing the point of enjoying the content. I related a lot of other aspects of my life to that sense of chasing a demon.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I like high energy. Every instrument is somewhat juiced. I grew up listening to a ton of metal and rock, and that spirit never left me.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I knew Alex a long time before this band, and Andy only a few months beforehand. We became great friends and it just all sort of happened.

4. Each band member's favorite band? 

Sam: my favorite band right now is Polyphia. But that answer changes daily. I mostly listen to lofi, videogame music (like the Castlevania SOTN soundtrack, or Zelda), and J ROCK (ONE OK ROCK). 

Alex: I’ve been on a huge hip-hop kick recently, mostly Rae Sremmurd’s newest record. Been jamming the new Miley Cyrus also too, flowers is the best bop of the year 

Andy: Waterparks, stand Atlantic, hot Milk, as it is, WSTR, points north, Sueco, love finding new music and new bands.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life kicking me usually makes the sparks fly, but lately, I’ve been pulling from all sorts of inspirations which is a very hard thing to pin down with exacts. Obviously, the music I listen to will inspire it, but I’m forced to listen to music all day when I’m in public or hanging with people. It all boils into the blend somehow.

6. Where was your last gig?

We haven’t played a gig yet.

7. Where would you like to act? 

Put me on the big screen I guess. I’ll take a job.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

If someone can get Hayley Williams or Gerard way to sing on one of our tracks I think I would have a heart attack.

9. Whom not?

I for sure don’t want Barney on any tracks. That dino is a major sus.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

When I was first starting out I used to get so nervous I would use the bathroom like 99 times the last ten minutes before going on stage. I think the only thing that fixes that is exposure therapy. That and understanding that it’s not about skill or talent, it’s about expression. Just find the one or two people vibing and stay connected with them during the set. Everything will be chill.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

All Time Low, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Blink, Escape The Fate, and Killswitch Engage.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Dick pics or butt pics. F*ckin proper creeps. *Sorry yall!*

13. What do you think of your fans?

Most everyone that is gonna support us is part of the dopest humans on the planet. These projects don’t go anywhere without fans.

14. What do you think of our site?

It sux major donkey dong. But that’s normal for the press.
