Interviews: Redouane Aouameur

Ladies and gentlemen, today we have the honor of interviewing Redouane Aouameur, a black metal solo artist hailing from Algeria. With his haunting and atmospheric soundscapes, Redouane has been making waves in the black metal scene, bringing a unique perspective to the genre. If you want to follow his journey and stay up to date with his latest releases, make sure to check out his Facebook page.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

This is my real name. I have decided to start a solo career under my own name.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I have always been a great fan of black metal but never had the chance to play it. I have played a mix of death metal and other genres, but never solely focused on black metal. That's when I got the idea to start a solo project dedicated to playing black metal

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

It is a solo project

4. Each band member's favorite band?

I don't have a particular favorite band. I enjoy the old-school scene, particularly black metal, and death metal, as well as some newer bands.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I draw inspiration from my daily life and everything around me, such as nature, animals, human behavior, and many other things

6. Where was your last gig?

My last gig was with my band Lelahell in October 2019 at the Bilbao Death Fest, which is one of the best death metal/grindcore festivals on earth. The festival was headlined by the mighty Master. We arrived at midnight from the airport, played at 5 am, and went straight back to the airport after the show. I may start doing some shows with my solo project soon, so stay tuned!

7. Where would you like to act?

I would love to perform in South America and Southeast Asia. These regions have some of the most dedicated and passionate fans, as well as amazing brutal bands.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

My dreams were to play with Schuldiner and Lemmy, but unfortunately...

9. Whom not?

I honestly don't know.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Yeah, when I first played my first show in 1995, I experienced some stage fright. It was a weird sensation, but over time, I learned to manage it through good preparation and not focusing too much on the moment itself. However, to be honest, it's something that you can't really avoid; you just have to learn how to deal with it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

In this song, I was inspired by Mgła for the instrumentation, and Immortal for the vocal style.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I honestly don't remember what the weirdest thing a fan ever asked me to do was, but I do recall one time when a fan asked me to wear a dirty, torn old Pantera t-shirt during a show, and I actually wore it.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I don't consider them as fans, but as friends and people who have helped me become who I am today.

14. What do you think of our site?

I just visited your site, and it is a huge one with many bands, lots of music, and a wealth of information! Keep up the good work!

15. Something to add?

Thank you for this interview. Stay tuned for the release on May 12th!
