Behind The Artworks: OneFromTheNorth - Regime, Salvation & The Pyre (2023)
The album art is a situation after the government has gained full power. The lies fed to the people to
get the votes and the power. Government leaders promising all the free and good things to the
citizens just to get their trust to decide things on behalf of the them and then take a full control of
people's lives. This in the end leads to the situation where all the people are possible enemies of the
state who needs to be followed, punished, and controlled by the government. The album art shows a
situation of a funeral pyre among the people to show up what happens if not followed correctly the
system. The city itself is a ruin, people are starving but the regime is doing good. The worst thing is
that people accept this and sees this as good thing. If a citizen does something bad or related to the
criminal activity, he’ll be punished, and even closest relatives accept this as “this is how this all
works.”
The world is full of these examples about societies where people were followed, where walls had
eyes and interception was normal. This has happened before and will definitely happen in the future
as well. After all, a man is looking for power and control. Citizens should never give all the power
to the leaders as bad things will happen when the scale between citizens and leaders is unbalanced.
It is interesting to think about the scale between people and leaders; If leaders will get it, there will
be a total control and oppression. If people will get it, it will be total destruction and anarchy.
