Interviews About Albums: Letters To Part - Live EP (2023)
In this new interview, we sat down with the American Alternative Rock/Progressive Rock band Letters To Part to ask some questions about their new album "Live EP".
1. What can you say about this new EP?
This is our first live album and features 4 songs from our EP “Mad’ouk” which was released back in 2020. The track list is:
Ascian
Rase
Alew
Silhouette
2. What is the meaning of the EP name?
This album specifically is a live performance and is meant for us playing live at Red Lion Audio. Our previous EP “Mad’ouk” meant “toughened by life and experience”- this resonates with the lyrics behind many of the songs in the album.
3. Which one is the composer of the EP?
In the live session each member added additional tweaks from the songs off the EP “Mad’ouk” - this ranged from tasteful transitions with pedals on guitars, to reworks on the drums due to have a new drummer, as well as new harmonies and melodies on vocals from having 3 vocalists in the session.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
“Alew” is a song that really stands out for us. It is an impactful live performance because of how dynamic the vocals are and the buildups and breakdowns of the instrumentals make it a stand-out track.
5. Is there a special message in this EP? If there is what it is?
We really wanted to capture the psychological and emotional impact of abuse. This topic is very important to us and we hope that it raises awareness to take care of each other and grow from mistakes made.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
In our song “Alew” the lyrics “Oak tree on fire” represents the tree of life burning down and the lyrics “Adolescence, too soon” focus on missing out on one’s childhood and having to take on adulthood at an early age.
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
Experiences with family and friends inspired a lot of the lyrical content behind the songs performed in our live session. We’d like to thank Gustavo at Red Lion Audio for helping us bring older songs from our original EP to live in a fresh way that made them feel new again.
8. Something to add?
