Interviews: After Hour Animals
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band, After Hour Animals from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The name is actually from a Norma Jean song. Stumbled across it while forming the band and felt like it fit all of our personalities.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Growing up we were all introduced to early Metalcore and all fell in love with bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Underoath or August Burns Red. We wanted to bring something new to the table and mix in elements from other genres we’ve grown to love as we’ve gotten older.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Armon & Nik met and instantly had the intention of starting the band together. Billy and Bao used to be in a band together called Under Aegis.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Nik: Dayseeker
Armon: Not a band but my favorite artist is Juice Wrld.
Billy: At the moment, Sleeptoken.
Bao: Probably Bad Omens.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Real-life events.
6. Where was your last gig?
We just played with our friends in Dreamhouse and it was at X-Ray Arcade. It was a great hometown show.
7. Where would you like to act?
In August we are doing a short tour and are all really excited to play in Jacksonville, FL.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We got big dreams of getting Scott Stapp on track. So if anyone out there knows how to make it happen hit our line.
9. Whom not?
Honestly, we just want to work with solid artists and musicians and are open to anything.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Oh yeah. I think everyone experiences it no matter how confident you are at first. The key is to just power through the first song. Once that’s out of the way the rest of the set flies by and is a breeze.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
The Plot In You, Dayseeker, and Bring Me The Horizon.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
I don’t think anyone has ever asked anything outlandish of any of us. If someone out there is up to the challenge though come out to a show.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Everyone we have ever met at shows or received messages from is all so kind. It means a ton that people connect with our music.
14. What do you think of our site?
We love it!
15. Something to add?
We just love being able to make music and share it with everyone. Thanks for taking the time to get to know us.
