Interviews: JUST1CE S0N

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Industrial Metal/Electronic Metal/Dark Metal artist, JUST1CE S0N from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the artist on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

In a band called Liquid Bitch, where I sang with my compadre David Sugar, I had a lyric that referred to myself as Justice Son. When I came back to music seriously about 3 years ago, I wanted to keep some continuity between my old music and my new. Thus I grabbed that line as my band name and the stage name for myself.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Electronic music just has always appealed to me--the Nine Inch Nail work, and especially The Electric Hellfire Club discography, changed my life. I also find it gratifying to have total control and vision (for good or ill) of all the music from composition, recording, to production.

3. Your favorite band? 

My favorite band is The Electric Hellfire Club, but on that same level are Thundergoat, Casket Robbery, Squidhammer, White Zombie, Samhain, Raider, Zombified Robot, Danzig, and so many others.

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

The music process inspires me. I go to a dark place and meditate there. My music-in-progress is always close by--on my phone, usually, where I can listen to it continually. It becomes a part of my everyday thoughts and life and that inspires me.

5. Where was your last gig?

I just played at Studio 301 in Portage, Wisconsin, USA, opening for Among Them in Trenches, Dead Loss, and The Green Leaves. 

6. Where would you like to act?

My ultimate goal is to open for all the major Wisconsin metal bands. Wherever that is, that is the place I want to perform. 

7. Whom would you like to feature with?

Casket Robbery, Thundergoat, The Convalescence, Cast in Fire, Squidhammer, Yotuma, and so many more metal bands in Wisconsin. 

8. Whom not?

Fascists.

9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Never. I devour the stage for sustenance.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands like Thundergoat and God Is War have inspired me by taking risks, pushing boundaries, and having fun doing something different.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Blood.

I love you and aim to satisfy your every desire.
