Interviews: NUUTTI HANNULA RADIANSSI

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal band, NUUTTI HANNULA RADIANSSI from Finland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I wanted a name that emphasizes that it's my solo project, but at the same time reflects the qualities I want to convey through my music.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Progressive rock and metal are natural forms of expression for me, because I can freely mix everything I hear together. It makes my expression free, because I don't have to limit it to any specific mold.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Ilari is my brother and Matias is my childhood friend. So yes, Ilari and I played together in Fireproven as well.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

The bands that are important to all of us are Dream Theater, Haken, and Porcupine Tree.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

All the experiences I have in my own life serve as inspiration. I translate these emotions into composition and lyrics when creating a song.

6. Where was your last gig?

We start touring with Radianssi next year when our first full-length album is released. My latest gig in this genre was with My Favorite Nemesis, where I filled in as their drummer.

7. Where would you like to act?

Wacken Open Air has always been a festival where I would love to perform.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Devin Townsend is one of my biggest musical inspirations, both in terms of his music and the philosophy through which he creates art, so he would be my choice.

9. Whom not?

I don't have anyone like that.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

When I first started my career as a musician, I struggled with stage fright a lot. Nowadays, I don't get too nervous before gigs anymore. My tip is to recognize and accept the emotions that arise. You can't prevent them from happening, but you can choose how you respond to them. It takes practice, but it works.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Devin Townsend, Haken, Dream Theater, Intervals, Periphery, John Coltrane, The Beatles, and Metallica.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing particularly strange comes to mind. The questions have often been related to music or performing.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are good people.

14. What do you think of our site?

It seems very clear and good.

15. Something to add?

I want to wish you a great upcoming summer!
