Interviews: Prophecy

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band, Prophecy from Denmark. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When I was thinking of a band name I just somehow thought of Prophecy, it fit the music and concept perfectly…

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Because we all love it and that’s the style of music we wanted to put out with Prophecy.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes! Galin had been one of my best friends for a long time and still is for that matter…He was the vocalist on this record but also mixed and mastered it. He is also an amazing guitar player, who plays in one of the oldest Bulgarian metal bands, Hades, that’s where I borrowed the drummer from, Miroslav Slavov. Nicklas, the bass player, was always and still is a great friend and it was me in him who were the very first Prophecy members!

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Difficult question, since we all like so much stuff, haha! If I have to pick just one that is a huge inspiration, that would be Megadeth! Not much can be said here – Dave Mustaine is the godfather of this music… Galin loves bands like Testament, Miroslav is a big Kreator fan, and Nicklas loves Vio-lence!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It can be and has been my own favorite bands and artists, but it can really be anyone or anything that inspires me as an artist!

6. Where was your last gig?

That’s the funny thing - Prophecy never actually played a proper live show! Reason for that is that I always joined bands that have a very busy schedule, thus I never had the time myself. First, it was Agent Steel, now it is Rezet. Thus Prophecy unintentionally became a ‘’studio project’’.

7. Where would you like to act?

Oh, man! The future is bright! Everywhere possible! I love playing live and this music deserves it too! As soon as the time is right, with me having the time etc. I would love to do some Prophecy shows!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Would be awesome to release a song featuring a veteran from a thrash metal scene, can’t just think of a single one at the moment, too many great ones!

9. Whom not?

Hmmm, especially nowadays I try to be as open-minded as a metal musician can possibly can regarding these things! Haha! I again can’t think of a specific artist I wouldn’t like to feature on my music, I will be better prepared next time, haha!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really…I mean, you’re supposed to get that excitement before going on stage, and there is sometimes nervousness in that mix of feelings, but that’s just how it goes! Kinda difficult to explain. I’ve never had like a full-on stage fright though, doesn’t sound like a fun experience, but definitely something one can overcome!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Metallica, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Exodus, Anvil, and many others…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don’t think I have ever been asked for a weird thing by a fan, haha! Just the usual…autographs, photos, etc…

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are awesome! And that’s not just my opinion, it’s a fact!

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s awesome! Keep it up!

15. Something to add?

Thanks for having me and stay Metal to the very end and beyond!
