Interviews About Albums: Livin'Evil - PRAYERS AND TORMENTS (2023)

In this new interview, we sat down with the French Power Metal/Heavy Metal band Livin'Evil to ask some questions about their new album "PRAYERS AND TORMENTS". 

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

The album is a tribute to PATRICK PAIRON, who died in 2018. He was the co-founder of LIVIN’EVIL in 1992, with his brother ERIC and was also the principal composer and songwriter for LIVIN’EVIL between 1992 and 1998. He was also the singer, in addition to being the talented lead guitarist. The album regroup a part of his most famous songs, but recorded with professional meanings and rearranged with a real heavy metal voice.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

The initials «PRAYERS AND TORMENTS» form P.A.T., the nickname of Patrick, always for the tribute but symbolize the two parts of him, the good and the evil.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Patrick has composed all the music, except « DREADFUL FATE » by Eric Pairon. The original texts were lost, so new songs have been written by Jérôme Viel Some arrangements and new riffs were composed by Jérôme, Kiato, and J.A.

4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?

BEHIND THE LIGHT is the most appreciate and the most listen by fans.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

As described before, the album is dedicated to the memory of Patrick Pairon.

6. Are there some lyrics that you´d love to share?

Not really, all lyrics were written without pretension, but maybe SMILE OF THE KNIFE will be pleased to share.

7. Which inspirations haven been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Iron Maiden is the most important influence is this album, but I would like to thank all the additional guests' musicians who make incredible new guitar solos
