Interviews: Burn The Evidence

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band, Burn The Evidence from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were searching for a name that can relate to the fact that we talk about crimes, mysteries, and investigators' stuff! In the beginning, I was looking for a famous street name where weird things happened in the past... but we brainstormed on the name for a good month before sticking with Burn the Evidence.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

As we all have a metalcore/deathcore background with our previous project (Eric and Max - Fractures&Outlines) (Remi, Dominik, and Emmanuel- Greta Knights) we wanted to stick to our roots and play what we love to play! CORE!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Totally, back in 2016, we played a Battle of the Band and this is where we met. We played a lot of shows together with our previous project, F&O opened for the GK 3 album release back in 2017 my memory is good! A couple of years later, here we are, 5 pals more motivated than ever to create an experience!

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Remi - Ice Nine Kills

Eric - Ice Nine Kills

Max - While She Sleeps

Dominik - Blink-182

Emmanuel - Peryphery

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everything that Is related to suspense, the emotion of fear, the everyday struggle some people have just to go through the day because of their mental health. But in the end, you need to find a way to go on and succeed. That’s pretty much it, it’s giving something dark with a solid final!

6. Where was your last gig?

It was a chords productions gig at the brass monkey in Ottawa and we were opening for Stick To Your Guns.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play festivals and shows around Quebec and Ontario province to start, and who knows, jumping on a tour as openers in the US or the EU sounds like a dream! Let’s cross our fingers and keep grinding hard to achieve that!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I (Remi) would love to feat with beyond deviation singer Guillaume Villeneuve. This dude is a beast and an amazing human being! I know that Eric is gonna make us sound so scary!

9. Whom not?

We are open to playing with everybody as long as respect and mutual agreement are the number one rule, just like in BTE!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Personally no, I think if you are not ready and confident about playing live you should avoid that, when you are ready and in a position to put on a great show, the stage is gonna be your playfield, your home!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Architects, Ice Nine Kills, While She Sleeps, Bring Me the Horizon

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

For myself (remi) while back in Greta Knights 2009, we played a show at an agriculture fair in Rimouski, a fan asked me to go see and pet his cow that was downstairs at the fair.. we chilled with the cow for like an hour... I love animals

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love every single one of them! Just to listen to our music and share what they are thinking of it, meant the world to us! I think our fans are the best.

14. What do you think of our site?

Amazing site, well built, information is spot on, no rumors and stuff, you are helping a lot of artists to be seen and that’s amazing for everybody! Your article is well-written and fun to read. You guys are professional and very nice people to work with! Thx Breathing The Core!

15. Something to add?

We are putting something big for the end of the winter of 2024! Stay tuned for that. Spiral is gonna be out on July 28th! Studio sessions are amazingly great, we got a very good pace and a little bit in advance in our schedule! Stay tuned on our FB, YouTube, Insta for more content on that gruesome investigation and disappearance that occur in our agent's life!
