Interviews: Grand Elder
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Stoner Metal/Sludge Metal band, Grand Elder from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The name is Grand Elder stems from overhearing a plant named "Ground Elder".
Ground elder, Aegopodium podagraria, is an invasive perennial weed that quickly forms a mass of leaves that out-competes other plants growing nearby
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Organically came whilst jamming.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
The guitarists Jim and Callum go way back, to their college days. Then Jim met Chris (a singer 10 years ago ) and had ideas for a band, Jim quickly brought Callum on board who in turn brought Army (bassist). Barney (drummer ) was sourced on a musician's page online to complete the lineup.
