Behind The Tracks: Desert Kites - Sorry Ass (Single) (2023)

“Sorry Ass” is one of our earlier songs. We actually wrote it a couple of years ago, I think it’s the 2 nd song we ever wrote, after Coming Home to You. On the one hand, it’s a reflection on owning up to all those big mistakes you made in your life and on the other, an attempt to move on. You just can’t be sorry all the time and you shouldn’t let those mistakes own you. After we recorded the song we sat on it for a while, as new songs kept coming through our creative process. I’m glad we did because after we recorded a few others we were able to go back and make some changes. In particular, we included backing vocals, which changed the song completely, made it more rounded and brought it in line with other songs we’d been writing.
