Behind The Tracks: EGO PLANET - Butcher’s Blade (Single) (2023)

Jarrett Mead (lyricist and vocalist): Butcher’s Blade is a song about trying to find balance and peace while striving for a life of righteousness. We live in an extremely divided world, and at times I feel an overwhelming rage toward other people. It’s tempting to give in to the seductive pull of hatred. But hatred is corrosive, and carrying it around with you eventually warps your perception of the world and erodes all its beauty.

So the question is: How does one remain vigilant to the injustices of the world and actively fight them, but avoid letting the fight consume them? To even consider the question is a privilege not all can afford, and I’m still searching for the answer. Butcher’s Blade is about that search.
