Behind The Tracks: Sekond Skyn - Small (Single) (2023)

Is a testament to addiction and depression. The opening lyrics are about when you come home to an empty house and those familiar demons are waiting for you. You can't fight back because you're feeling so small unable to handle it..nothing exists but your darkness.

 

The music started with a repeating guitar line that Zack had presented to the band. Mark then added some candy and texture parts with a wah pedal. Tom and Bri added a foundation of heavy drums and bass line for the chorus parts. After the foundation was built Jesse wrote the lyrics to complete the song. Small is an song that mixes Suttle guitar verses with heavy choruses and emotional lyrics based around mental health and addiction.
