Interviews About Albums: Forgotten Silence - Vemork Konstrukt (2023)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Czech Experimental Metal band Forgotten Silence to ask some questions about their album "Vemork Konstrukt"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Andrea: I think this was our recent masterpiece which represents all our influences and desires in its best form. We are satisfied and pleased by all reactions and impressions.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Andrea: Vemork is a former power plant in Norway. It used to produce heavy water and the whole name is a combination of the industrial character of all mankind's technical highlights and their fragility at the same time.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Andrea: Forgotten Silence music is always the result of all members at its creative parts.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Andrea: There is nothing to be called a favorite song or one to be taken as a hit or something... All songs work together and for the album itself. Just maybe the form of the fourth song Verdikt_22 is slightly different. Try to listen to it.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Andrea: The main message of the album is to entertain us as its authors. But if you listen to all the discography of the band, each album works under a concept and the main thought of this CD is the power of irreversible faith in natural-ness and needs or feelings, however, you try to but there any barriers or artificial constructions.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Andrea: I have no particular phrases, but try to feel into this:

Another key is for door on the second floor of old building. Concrete doorstep damaged by trampling. Sometimes children played here, now buried under mossy headstones a few miles away.

An antique wooden door we have known from the old and germy hospitals. A stench of disinfectants, the high ceilings used to be white, but now they have turned yellow. The dust lies on the other dust. No electronics. No chips. Keys are rattling in a moaning mechanism and I always enter the exposition. There is a translucid entity waiting for me to come. Grateful and obedient and prurient and hungry.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

We are inspired by whole our lives, all circumstances, obstacles, and opportunities. Once they enter our inner world, it start to push itself out either in music or lyrics.

8. Something to add?

Andrea: Give us a chance and try to listen to Vemork Konstrukt. It won’t be easy, it requires many visits and moods, but definitely, each listening will bring you to new unexplored places and it will not stop surprising you.
