Interviews About Albums: Heirloom - Romanticize (2023)
In this new interview, we sat down with the American Metalcore band Heirloom to ask some questions about their album "Romanticize".
1. What can you say about your new album “Romanticize”?
There's an awful lot to say hahaha. Proud and excited are the first two things that come
to mind for sure. Proud of the songs and the team that helped put them together, From demo to
full track there were so many people involved that all made a huge difference and I'm thankful for
them always. Excited for the future as well! We really think this album resonates with a lot of
people In a lot of ways and we feel that this album will put us in front of a lot of new people!
Excited to get on the road and play these songs in as many different cities as we can!
2. What is the meaning of the album name?
"ROMANTICIZE" means to describe something in an idealized or unrealistic manner, and
many of these songs touch on past events and traumas that we may have Romanticized in our
heads to be better than they were, and, in knowing that, these songs are about the journey of
seeing those times for what they were and moving forward with a better and fuller understanding.
3. Which one is the composer of the album?
We all have a hand in writing the songs so we couldn't really pin down any one person as
the "composer"
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
[HYPER]VIGILANT is collectively our favorite song on the album and one we love playing
live. It's fast and intense and overall a banger haha.
5. Is there a special message in “Romanticize”? If there is, what it is?
Sometimes times are tough and things aren't as good as they may seem and the sooner
you can unpack and understand those moments of time the sooner you can move forward to a
better and happier place in your life.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Now day brings life
Lose morning anger
Brave enough to be a fool
In a land of strangers
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family,
someone you'd love to thank especially?
Musically we all take inspiration from many places, be they bands in our scene such as
My Ticket Home, Bleed From Within, or Silent Planet, to much larger acts like Breaking Benjamin,
Linkin Park, and Chevelle.
Our friends and family have been there for us since day one and we are thankful beyond words for
them every day. For a full list of thanks you can see them at the end of our studio documentary on
our YouTube!
8. Something to add?
This album took so much love and care and just as much blood, sweat, and tears. We hope
that everyone who listens to this album comes away from it with the meaning in mind and a new
favorite song. We can't wait to tour this album and get it in front of as many people as possible.
Here's to the future!
