Interviews About Albums: Solene - Sold-Out Season (2023)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Brazilian Pop Punk band Solene to ask some questions about their album "Sold-Out Season"

1 What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Sold-Out Season for us is the second part of a complete work, showing the band's B-side. A sound opposite to the previous EP "Available to Fall," where there's a more melodic and emotional characteristic.

2 What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

It signifies that we are wrapping up the work of this season in this composition, mixing, and identity format.

3 Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

The composers are Phill (vocalist) and Gomz (guitarist). In some tracks, they compose together, while in others, individually.

4 If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Definitely "Downfall." A few months ago, I would have said "P.S. You Saved My Life" if it had been released as one of the unreleased tracks, but without a doubt, "Downfall" is the standout song today.

5 Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is, what is it?

Throughout the EP, you can notice a change in mood in the lyrics, starting with self-esteem-related lyrics, much like the first EP. However, shortly after, the lyrics transition to heavier themes.

6 Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

I think the lyrics of "P.S. You Saved My Life," even though fictional, carry significant weight. But when it comes to a lyric that defines our moment, I think "Crash" would be the perfect candidate.

7 Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

We always draw inspiration from styles with more energy and melody. However, lately, we've been heavily influenced by this new pop-punk revival scene, rejuvenated by Travis Barker.

8 Something to add?

Thank you very much for the interview. I genuinely hope that people can listen to this EP that we've crafted with all the love in the world. Every lyric and every note placed there was done with absolute truth and genuine feelings.
Thank you a lot!
