Interviews: Interemo

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band Interemo from Sweden. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

It kind of came out of nowhere, our drummer (former guitarist), Harry, saw something (I don’t remember exactly what) on the internet called “Interemo Deus”, witch means “To kill god” in Latin. So we thought that it would be a perfect name for death metal!

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

It just happened. We listened to a lot of different music, but we all liked death metal. We started writing songs in late 2020, and then we developed our sound with time. At the beginning of 2021, I started listening to a lot of Swedish death metal, bands like Entombed, Dismember, LIK, and Nihilist. And then the others just kind of followed on that.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Me, Harry, and our former drummer Viktor knew each other before. Me and Harry have played in bands together since we were 13. Viktor knew our former bassist Jack, and we started playing. Then we changed members a lot in late 2022 and early 2023, but we are done with that now! We also knew every member that joined the band before they joined.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Mine is definitely The Hellacopters. A Swedish rock band, the best band in the world if you ask me! For Filip, I would say that it’s Decapitation! And Harry really loves Bloodbath, so let’s say Bloodbath for him!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

The thing that inspires us the most is the passion for the music. And the love for music and writing songs. But of course, we want to give new music to our fans and the people who like our stuff!

6. Where was your last gig?

At Malmöfestivalen. A festival that takes place in Malmö, southern Sweden, every year in August. They have a lot of stuff to do. There is music, food and almost everything you can imagine!

7. Where would you like to act?

Our goal right now is to play outside of Sweden soon! We don’t really care where it is, but outside the country would be really cool!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I personally would really love to play with a big death metal band. Dismember, Cannibal Corpse, LIK, Death Breath and bands like that.

9. Whom not?

Hmm, hard question. Maybe like with some kind of sell out pop artist, haha!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We have. The first performances we did were really scary. But as soon you go on stage that disappears. You get so into the music (if you really love what you do) so that you forget about the scary stuff. So if you’re scared, just do it, it will go away as soon as you start playing!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There is many. But the main inspiration sources are Entombed, Dismember, LIK, Death Breath, Black Sabbath and The Hellacopters!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Haha, we have an 11 year old super fan from Sweden who absolutely loves our music and texts our Instagram account about her personal life at home and stuff. We think it’s kind of cute, but maybe weird if you ask somebody else, haha! But we really appreciate everyone who likes us!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We really love them! To hear that someone likes something YOU did by yourself is an amazing feeling, nothing can beat that!

14. What do you think of our site?

I love it! You are helping many bands with promotion, and that we love. It is also fun answering all these questions, I haven’t thought of many of these things in a long time!
